Long Island Woman Attacked, Hit In Head With Computer On Lirr, Police Say

A local woman riding on the Long Island Railroad was injured when she was hit in the head with a laptop computer by another rider.

The incident took place around 10:52 a.m., Wednesday, July 7, when Southampton Police responded to the Bridgehampton Train Station for a reported attack.

According to Lt. Susan Ralph, the victim, a Long Island resident, was traveling from the Southampton station to Bridgehampton when she was struck in the head with a laptop computer resulting in physical injury and damage to the computer. 

As a result of the investigation, Shantal April Daniel, age 34, of Queens, was arrested and charged with assault and criminal mischief.
